To maximize the efficiency of the Flory Powr' Track Shredder and minimize your shredding cost:
- Stack prunings sideways (across the row).
- Keep the width of the brush less than 9' wide (the head of the machine is 10’ wide).
- If prunings are longer than 10’, stack them at an angle (30 to 45 degrees).
- If prunings exceed 12’ in length, we recommend an additional cut be made rather than stacking at an angle.
- Stack whips or prunings without laterals on top of larger brush.
- Avoid stacking brush longways (down the row).
- In heavy prunings (continuous brush more than 3' high), stack brush every row.
- With light prunings, consolidate material into piles.
- Place the first pile of brush at least 3 trees into the field.
- Keep prunings less than 3" in diameter, this will increase the efficiency of the machine, reducing your shredding cost.
- Stack prunings in the middle of the row, and in a straight line.
Things to Avoid
![]() Incorrect stacking, brush is too tall. | ![]() Incorrect stacking, brush is too wide. |
![]() Incorrect stacking, brush is stacked sown the row (parallel to berm). | ![]() Results of incorrect stacking. The brush was stacked too high, yielding larger chip size. |
![]() Results of incorrect stacking. The brush was stacked too wide resulting in piles left on the side. |
